International Folklore Festival in Ożarów Mazowiecki
International Folklore Festival in Ożarów Mazowiecki
For the past decade, the Dom Kultury “Uśmiech” (House of Culture “Smile”) in Ożarów Mazowiecki has proudly organized the International Folklore Festival, an annual event that has become one of the region’s most important and recognizable cultural celebrations. Since its very beginning, the festival has aimed to bring people together through the beauty of traditional music, dance, and art, highlighting both Polish heritage and the cultural diversity of the world.
Every year, usually in the summer, Ożarów Mazowiecki transforms into a lively meeting place for artists, dance groups, and musicians from different countries. Participants arrive in colorful costumes, carrying with them the unique traditions and customs of their homelands. On the festival stage, one can see performances representing folk cultures from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, creating a vibrant mosaic of sounds, rhythms, and emotions.

The program of the festival includes not only stage performances but also workshops, exhibitions, and outdoor activities that allow both children and adults to experience folklore in an interactive way. Visitors can learn traditional dances, take part in handicraft workshops, and taste regional dishes prepared according to old recipes. Local artisans and folk groups also present their work, giving guests a deeper understanding of the craftsmanship and artistry behind folk traditions.
One of the festival’s main goals is to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding among nations. By welcoming guests from abroad, the organizers create a space for dialogue and friendship that goes beyond borders. Many participants emphasize that what makes this event truly special is its warm, family-like atmosphere and the hospitality of the people of Ożarów Mazowiecki.
Over the past ten years, the International Folklore Festival has grown steadily, gaining recognition both in Poland and abroad. It has become a proud symbol of Ożarów Mazowiecki’s cultural life — an event that connects generations and reminds us of the importance of preserving our roots while remaining open to the world.
Thanks to the commitment and passion of the Dom Kultury “Uśmiech” team, the festival continues to inspire, educate, and unite people through the universal language of art, dance, and music. Each edition brings new experiences, friendships, and unforgettable memories, proving that folklore is not only a part of the past but also a living and joyful element of our present and future.
